What is RChain (RHOC)?Jul 20, 2018 at 18:56
RChain is a blockchain application platform that aims to be faster, more secure and more easily scalable than existing blockchain architecture.
RHOC is one of the tokens used in the RChain platform. It is a proof-of-stake ERC20 token used to pay for fees on the platform. It was privately released in 2017 at an initial price of $0.20 per token with a minimum purchase amount of $50,000, but was never offered publicly in an ICO. It hit an all-time high of $2.83 in January 2018, but has since fallen to $0.76 at the time of writing.
RHOC will have a total supply of 1 billion tokens, after which no more new tokens will be created. The tokens will be eventually converted to RChain’s mainnet token, REV, at a rate of 1:1.
As a decentralized applications platform, RChain provides “content delivery at the scale of Facebook and support transactions at the speed of Visa.” Their goal during launch was to have the capacity to handle over 40,000 transactions per second, with the long-term goal of increasing this capacity to 100,000 transactions per second. This is made possible by the Rho Virtual Machine, which serves as the heart of the RChain platform.
RhoVM features a “multi-chain” design; that is, each instance of RhoVM on RChain only executes smart contracts on an independent blockchain and networks when necessary. This keeps RChain partitioned with a network of coordinated and parallel blockchains, giving RChain the scalability, speed and performance not present in existing blockchain architecture.
RChain also features “Namespaces,” which take the place of public keys to distinguish virtual address spaces. Simply put, Namespaces are responsible for managing visibility of a blockchain, its smart contracts, and other contracts on the RChain network.
RChain’s smart contracts are internally concurrent, using message-passing to optimize responsiveness and make the contracts more dynamic. Other features include meta-programming, reactive data streams, and pattern matching.
The current version of RChain released is in Alpha mode, with a full product launch, Mercury, slated in Q3 of 2018.
Where to buy?
RChain does not endorse the trade of RHOC; however, it is available in KuCoin, HotBit, BitMart and EtherDelta.
Is it mineable?
RHOC has a maximum supply of 870,663,574 with a current circulating supply of 360,956,217 tokens.
