What is Dragonchain (DRGN)?Oct 03, 2018 at 21:27
To start, Dragonchain was previously known as the Disney Private Blockchain Platform in 2016 until it was released as an open source software. It was then taken over by Seattle-based non-profit organization Dragonchain Foundation in January 2017.
Dragonchain has a tagline of “the most secure, flexible and developer-friendly platform to date” since it simplifies the integration of real business applications onto a blockchain.
It also provides features such as easy integration, protection of business data and operations, currency agnosticism, and multi-currency support.
“Unlike existing platforms, with Dragonchain you retain complete control of your data. Sensitive business logic and smart contract functionality is kept proprietary,” Dragonchain’s architect, founder and CEO, Joe Roets, said.
The project has three main features, namely the Platform, Incubator, and Marketplace.
Why developer friendly? Dragonchain allows users to build on a scalable, serverless platform with built-in protection of business data using established programming languages such as Java, Python, Node, C#.
The project is also “Scaled by the Crowd” with its Incubator feature, which allows new projects to be developed.
Developers can be part of the Incubator which will give them early access to exciting projects supported by an ecosystem of subject matter experts and blockchain enthusiasts.
The last feature is the Marketplace, where users can leverage an ecosystem of pre-built library smart contracts, qualified vendors, specialized experts, and incubated projects.
What sets it apart from other projects is that it was made to be currency agnostic, allowing developers to create a blockchain without currency, or with one or more currencies in place.
To access Dragoinchain’s commercial platform services, you need Dragon tokens—or Dragons, for short.
Dragons can also be used in the DragonFund Incubator to give developers an early access to technology and data from the projects.
Moreover, the tokens are also the means of rewarding and incentivizing developers who contribute to the project.
Where to buy?
Dragons can be bought using other cryptocurrencies in exchanges like KuCoin, EtherDelta, CoinExchange, Gate.io, Tidex, Bancor Network, Token Store, Fatbtc, LATOKEN, IDEX, CoinExchange, Tidex and Allcoin.
Is it mineable?
Dragons are not mineable. It has a total supply of 433,494,437 tokens, with 238,421,940 in circulation.
